It does not happen a week without the Government of Haiti being forced to deny fake news (information deliberately false with intent to mislead the public), which have been for several months within the framework of a vast campaign of misinformation for eminently political purposes, aimed at harming the Haitian State and its institutions and stirring public anger against the authorities.

Monday, it is the turn of Jean-Marie Reynaldo Brunet the Minister of the Interior to bring "a categorical denial to documents, totally false, including a correspondence of the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL), reporting mobilized funds from 'National Telecom S.A.'(NATCOM), for the purpose of financing its intelligence services.

This act of misinformation on social networks, is part of the obscurantist works of people who have shady interests to destabilize the country. The Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) calls the population to be cautious about this campaign of intoxication and manipulation of opinion, through the dissemination of false information on social networks. In addition, the Ministry specifies that such practices and transactions are not part of national accounts procedures or public finances."

The Minister Brunet invites "the intellectual authors of these dishonest actions to get back together without delay" and informs that he asked the competent services to look into this situation, which according to him "aims to feed a tension and fuel a psychosis of fear in the country, as well as to cast stigma on State institutions."
