The counting of votes has started since March 21 and the disclosure of preliminary results of the second round is scheduled for March 31. This week in a statement the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) held to clarify: The Electoral Registry closed on September 28, 2010 shows a total of 4,712.693 people of voting age. And that of this number, should be deducted the deceased voters estimated to 432,347 to get the actual size of the electorate, either 4,290.540 voters. The CEP recalls that the participation rate being defined as the quotient of the number of voters and that of the actual electorate.

For the second round of presidential and legislative elections in Haiti, the progress in the process at the Vote Tabulation Centre (CTV) on March 25, 2011 at 5:56pm (published this morning) was the following:

President:

Total number of minutes : 11,182

Minutes processed (tabulation completed) : 3,828 (34.23%)

Minutes in progress of treatment : 7,126 (63.73%)

Minutes to receive : 228 (2.04%)

Senator:

Total number of minutes : 5,134

Minutes processed (tabulation completed) : 1,236 (24.07%)

Minutes in progress of treatment : 3,757 (73.18%)

Minutes to receive : 141 (2.75%)

Deputy:

Total number of minutes : 9,619

Minutes processed (tabulation completed) : 4,164 (43.29%)

Minutes in progress of treatment : 5,260 (54.68 %)

Minutes to receive : 195 (2.03%)

TOTAL of the Tabulation completed : 9,228 minutes (35.58%)

TOTAL of the Tabulation in treatment : 16,143 minutes (62.24%)

TOTAL of the minutes to receive : 564 (2.17%)
