Haiti - USA : Former Haitian political candidate pleads guilty to cocaine trafficking 03/12/2018 09:36:43 Casseus, nicknamed "Angelo" or "Jérémie", 44, will be the subject of a hearing on January 30 about his sentence after pleading guilty to "possession with attempted distribution" of more than 500 grams of cocaine. According to court records "Casseus ran a drug trafficking organization that used people to import cocaine into the United States, hidden in tomato paste cans." Vincent Casseus and his accomplice Vito Antenor a resident of Miami-Dade (40 years) which also pleaded guilty are charged with conspiracy to import and possession with the intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine in counties of Miami-Dade and Broward and elsewhere. The indictment further alleges that Casseus and Antenor intended to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine in Miami-Dade County on November 6, 2016. If found guilty of the counts of conspiracy alleged in the indictment, the defendants incur a minimum sentence of 10 years' imprisonment and life imprisonment. If convicted of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, the defendants will be sentenced to 5 years to 40 years in prison. SL/ HaitiLibre
