Haiti - Politic : The MHAVE signs an agreement to list the skills of the Diaspora throughout the world
At the beginning of the week, on the sidelines of the talk "Breakfast Entre Nous" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26439-haiti-politic-the-minister-of-mhave-talks-about-his-plans-for-the-diaspora.html Marnatha Irene Ternier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) and Firmin Baker the President of the "Haiti Renewal Alliance" (HRA), in the presence of Guissepe Lopette, Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), of Deputy Jerry Tardieu, some representatives of organizations of the Haitian Diaspora as well as MHAVE executives, have signed a memorandum of understanding so that the HRA conducts an inventory of all Haitians in the Diaspora worldwide.

"This Memorandum of Understanding comes to materialize an idea of President Jovenel Moïse, who believes it necessary to list all the sons and daughters of the country living in foreign lands, in order to have information on their host country, their areas of expertise or profession and their willingness to return to Haiti or to help the country in well-defined circumstances," said Minister Ternier emphasizing that this information will allow to build a reliable database of resources that represent the members of the Haitian Diaspora "This initiative is of paramount importance to all our Diaspora compatriots who want to reintegrate into the social, economic, cultural and professional life of the country. It is also an opportunity for the Government to benefit from the expertise and availability of its sons and daughters living outside the country."

The Minister says she is relying on the participation of all members of the Diaspora to ensure its full success.

Firmin Backer, promised to work hard to deliver the results of this survey "We will work very closely with the MHAVE to provide the necessary answers and help trace the compatriots of the Diaspora who can serve Haiti in time and place".

Deputy Jerry Tardieu, President of the Commission on the proposed amendment to the Constitution, stressed that regardless of the steps taken to standardize the rights of compatriots living abroad, it is up to legislators to work on their legalization.
