Rubén Darío Paulino Sem the Minister of Defense announced the launch at the end of December of a anti-return operation for Haitians in irregular migratory situation, who go massively to Haiti to spend the holidays of end of year in family and who attempt to return illegally to the Dominican Republic in January with their parents.

This operation will be deployed in the five border provinces, but in the other provinces, the staff of the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), responsible for the implementation of repatriations, will be put to contribution states the Minister.

Measures to prevent these illegal returns on the Dominican territory, which will be conducted by the armed forces and the DGM, will be announced next week, said the Minister pointing out that the surveillance system is improving and strengthening from year to year.
