Haiti - Tennis : The Haitian-Japanese Naomi Osaka 4th best player in the world
In the first Women's Tennis Association (WTA) World Ranking for the year 2019 published Monday, Japanese-born Naomi Osaka (21), a rising star in women's tennis, advanced and now finds herself 4th best player in the world, with 5,270 points, despite her elimination at the tournament of Brisbane (Australia) in the semifinal by the Ukrainian (29 years old) Lesia Tsurenko who won in two sets 6-2, 6-4 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26589-haiti-tennis-brisbane-tournament-naomi-osaka-eliminated-in-semifinal.html

With this ranking, Naomi equals the best ranking of her career that she had already reached in 2018.

Born in Japan on October 16, 1997 in Chūō-ku (Osaka), from a Haitian father and a Japanese mother, her family immigrated to the United States when she was 3 years old. His father, Léonard Francois, from Jacmel introduced him to tennis and recorded it at the Japanese Tennis Association (Naomie trains in Florida). She became a professional player in September 2013.
