Haiti - Army : 250 aspiring soldiers of the FAd'H in training
Recall that during the first call for applications (17 to 21 July 2017 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21481-haiti-flash-the-army-recruits-call-for-candidates.html ) more than 2,200 postulants of which 200 young women have registered https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21629-haiti-army-more-than-2-000-candidates-soldier-enrolled.html . Last November, during the resumption of recruitment (November 12 to 16 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25995-haiti-flash-recruitment-of-a-class-of-soldiers.html ) nearly 1,700 new aspiring soldiers have registered.
In addition, 50 non-commissioned officers and 15 professionals will travel to Mexico for military training.
In his speech, Minister Joseph insisted on the values of the military institution "Being a soldier in Haiti is symbolizing the pride of our ancestors [...]" and the role of the Haitian military whose mission includes to intervene in case of disaster and major natural hazards while respecting human rights.
Colonel Jean-Robert Gabriel, Assistant Chief of Staff G1 / G3 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23809-haiti-flash-appointments-of-the-staff-of-fad-h.html urged the young recruits to make the most of their training reminding them "your mission will be to defend the national territory and serve the Haitian population."
Note that in addition to cooperation with Mexico, the Haitian Armed Forces also benefit from cooperation with Chile, Brazil, Ecuador and Taiwan.
