Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Activities paralyzed for lack of fuels and student demonstrations
Monday in Petit-Goâve early afternoon, the situation was tense on the National Road #2, where motorcycle taxi drivers were protesting against the shortage of fuel, blocking traffic.

The drivers were protesting against the high price and scarcity of gasoline, blaming petrol station owners for selling fuel at night to private individuals in order to make a profit. In the informal market, the gallon of gasoline in Petit-Goâve sells for around 600 gourdes.

Moreover, for the second week, the students of Faustin Soulouque High School took the streets demanding the resumption of classes suspended due to a strike since January 14th https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26672-haiti-petit-goave-violent-clashes-between-students-at-least-6-wounded.html .

Solidarity college students accompanied the High School Students. Stones were thrown at the College La Bonté and the students forced the closure of the offices of the DGI and that of finances... It should be noted that the students were demonstrating without any police supervision, the police being occupied to restore traffic on the RN2.

School activities were totally paralyzed and all schools were forced to send students back to home
