Haiti - Sports : Already twenty regional football academies 28/01/2019 08:37:05 In recent times even in youth teams and for specific positions requiring a large athletic presence national coaches have had to go elsewhere to find the rare bird "ras pa bay Gwo gason preske… " Parnel, Peter Germain or Bruni being exceptions these last years. Of course the definitive solution is not for tomorrow because it would be necessary to review crucial issues such as the absence of sports at school, the disappearance of recreational activities such as "lago", diet and eating habits of Haitian children so many factors that can not be overcome without a real transformation of the general education given to children. Nevertheless, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) wants to at least stop the drift and serious deficiencies of recent years. The "Camp Nou" experience showed them that young people, even arriving at a slightly late age 12/13 years, had an interesting athletic development, hence the idea of taking care of them earlier; strong of this experience which saw in less than 5 years the Haitian football dominate the Caribbean, the National Technical Direction (DTN) chose to deepen the experiment by extending it to younger ones from where the creation of the regional academies ; the project that has been in the making for two years is about to take off and already about 20 have started to work and it's feverish and hope for our country to come out of world-class players. While the detection process is in full swing, the FHF is entering the scientific phase, namely to have highly qualified trainers capable of carrying out modern work with young talents and set up Academies that will have to meet the needs of children. Thus, with the collaboration of two leagues of the French Football Federation (FFF), that of Martinique and Guyana, the FHF asked and obtained their assistance to come here to work with our coaches on the specific aspects of the training of the very young players in the target age group 7/10 years. Two instructors, regional technical advisers of the FFF, arrived Sunday in Haiti. Jocelyn Germe instructor and Regional Technical Advisor of Martinique and Hubert Contour National Technical Advisor of Guyana, for five days will work with fifty young technicians from across the country, future educators to work in academies. In addition, with the DTN, they will work on a guide and an educator's manual that will contain the curriculum to be taught in regional academies. Jocelyn Germe and Hubert Contour, have the advantage of knowing Haitian football through many courses taught here but also to have had many Haitian players under their direction for years. The five-day course will end with an exam to evaluate the knowledge acquired. Other formations are scheduled periodically. The regional academy program led by Gegory Chevry will conduct inter-academy competitions periodically to make the necessary improvements. BF/ FHF/ HaitiLibre
