Haiti - Politic : Address to the Nation of President has strengthened the mobilization
Friday, the message to the Nation, of President Jovenel Moïse broadcasted the day before on the National Television of Haiti (TNH) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26937-haiti-flash-jovenel-moses-leaves-his-silence-and-addresses-the-nation.html aimed at calming the game and lowering tensions, did not work at all as planned, quite the opposite anti-government protesters believe that this speech only reinforced their mobilization by not providing any concrete solution to the demands of the population. For the opposition leaders of the hard wing this speech is "a declaration of war made by Jovenel Moïse to the Haitian people" they believe that the tone of the Head of State leaves little hope for a real dialogue. Continuing to demand his resignation and that of his government.

In the Champ de Mars a crowd of demonstrators was dispersed by the police. Another demonstration of several thousand of very determined young people, who was going to Petion-ville, demanding the resignation of the Head of State was violently dispersed at the level of Delmas 32 by agents of the Intervention and Maintenance Corps with teargas grenades...

The National Road #1 at Bon Repos (La Plaine) was completely blocked with a barricade made of concrete blocks. New barricades have been reported in several provincial towns. The National Road #2 and some areas of Port-au-Prince were also blocked paralyzing largely the economic activities which however showed a tendency to recovery (supermarket banks, pharmacies among others, were cautiously open) while people were trying to find water, food and fuel from the few open gas stations protected by armed security agents

Long lines of people were visible in front of the banks and the public markets where the bread (among others) was missing on the shelves where the prices of certain commodities were displayed strongly on the rise.
