Ralph Youri Chevry, the Mayor of Port-au-Prince announces that because of the socio-political crisis that has caused the paralysis of all activities in the country and especially in Port-au-Prince and in order to offer a show to the height of the expectations and the image of the actors, and in the impossibility of being able to guarantee the absolute safety of the revelers, the Organizing Committee of the Carnival of Port-au-Prince, after long hours of concertation considered impossible the planning a quality carnival parade in the short time remaining. "The Port-au-Prince Municipal Administration has therefore decided to cancel the pre-carnival and carnival festivities to take place on February 24 and March 3 and 5, 2019."

In these particularly difficult times that the Nation is going through, the Administration Communale de Port-au-Prince offers its support to the National Police of Haiti (PNH) which works tirelessly to restore a climate of security on the national territory and renews its dedication to the service of all Port-au-Princiens.
