Haiti - Security : Acting Prime Minister Lapin intends to ensure the real security of the population
On Wednesday, March 27th, the Prime Minister Jean Michel Lapin, reunited in his official residence, the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN).

At the end of this important meeting Lapin held a press briefing to reiterate his desire to secure the country for the coming days and to talk about the main measures that his Government intends to implement to ensure the real security of the population, while stating that this meeting was not motivated by the announcement of the next demonstrations announced for March 29.

The Prime Minister said that the Police will spare no effort to fulfill its mission of ensuring public order, ensuring the safety of lives and property, in a general way regardless of trends or positions. Stressing that security must be ensured not only during the demonstrations but every day, throughout the national territory "from Monday to Sunday, a climate of security must reign in the country."

In his intervention, the Head of Government, while recognizing that it was legitimate for the citizens to produce their demands and organize demonstrations within the limits of the law, specified "The State has the responsibility to protect all those who claim against the dear life, just as it is his responsibility to protect citizens who want to go about their business [...] the national life must not be interrupted. Public administration, commerce and schools must function normally."

Concluding "The public authorities will operate with the utmost rigor against troublemakers and all violators of the law."
