Haiti - DR : CODEVI will create 14,000 new jobs this year 29/03/2019 10:54:52
Haitian clothing exports are expected to increase by 8% this year, despite protests and riots in February that caused the closure of several factories in recent months, says Dominican entrepreneur Fernando Capellan, Chairman of "Group M" and oof the Company of Industrial Development (CODEVI) located in the free zone of Ouanaminthe, which currently employs more than 11,000 Haitians in the textile sector is more than 20% of the 52,950 existing jobs in this sector in Haiti.
Capellan remains confident despite political uncertainties and long-standing labor disputes in Haiti "We will create 14,000 new jobs at CODEVI by the end of 2019 and we are in line with our target of 25,000 jobs."
