Haiti - Politic : The radical opposition refuses any dialogue with the Head of State

The main parties of the radical opposition reject any possibility of dialogue with President Jovenel Moïse and camp on their position.

After the refusal of the former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to receive an invitation from the Palace https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27329-haiti-news-zapping.html and the clear position of Maryse Narcisse the coordinator of Fanmi Lavalas who advocates the departure of Jovenel Moïse and the formation of a transitional government over three years while recalling "[...] since the electoral coup, we have never recognized Jovenel Moïse and have already expressed our position in our proposal to end the crisis" ; the Presidency invited Me André Michel, leader of the radical opposition of the so-called "democratic and popular" movement.

This invitation scheduled for Monday at the National Palace, was also rejected, André Michel said "The democratic and popular sector is not interested in a meeting on the formation of a new Government. All we want is the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse, create the conditions for the holding of the PetroCaribe trial and lead the country to a sovereign Haitian national conference to bring out a new project of society..."

Without getting discouraged, the Presidency invited Moïse Jean-Charles, leader of the "Pitit Dessalin" platform, to the National Palace on April 3rd.

"[...] Mr. Jean-Charles,

The Office of the President of the Republic presents its compliments and has the advantage of inviting you to meet the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel Moïse, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 2 pm in the Palace National.

This meeting will focus on the consultations leading to the formation of a new Government [...]"

New invitation and new failure for the Head of State, for Jean Charles Moses, fierce opponent of the ruling party "We are not in dialogue or negotiations with Jovenel Moïse. We opt for a clean slate. We demand the departure of Jovenel Moïse as well as the resignation of all the parliamentarians, [...]" he rejects any idea of integrating the new government, considering that a new Government is not the solution to the crisis.
