Miragoâne : arson at Jacques Privert high school

On the night of Wednesday 9 to Thursday 10 April, unidentified individuals set fire to classrooms at Jacques Privert high school in Miragoâne. Thanks to the vigilance of local residents, the fire has been under control, the lit tires wrapped in tarpaulin have been extinguished and the damage remains limited, said High School Director Ronald Dérosier. Note that this is the 4th arson attempt in this high school.

ECLAC : 2% growth for Haiti

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) today lowered its average growth estimate for the Caribbean and Latin America this year to 1.3% from 1.7% forecast last December. Indicating that for Haiti growth will be 2.0%. As for our Dominican neighbors, they will continue to dominate economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean with a growth rate of 5.5%.

CEDEL Haiti wins the "Elevator Pitch" competition

The Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) congratulates the team of CEDEL Haiti, led by entrepreneur Rock Andre, for his brilliant participation in the "Fericom 2019" which allowed Haiti to win the first place in the International Competition "Elevator Pitch". The winning idea is called "Coding the Future" and aims to introduce technology education in secondary schools by capitalizing on the entrepreneurship clubs in schools set up by CEDEL HAITI. Construction of a seed treatment center

Launch in the commune of Ferrier, in the Nord'East department, of the construction of a seed treatment conditioning center. This Center, equipped with state-of-the-art modern equipment, will be responsible for making quality seeds available to farmers.
