Haiti - Mexico : 9 Haitian and Mexican artists honored by the Embassy of Haiti
As part of the activities surrounding the commemoration of the 216th anniversary of our national bi-color, Haiti's Ambassador to Mexico Guy G. Lamothe has once again honored Haitians from Mexico who stand out and who honor our "Haiti Chérie".

In his speech, Ambassador Lamothe declared "The establishment at the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico of this Award of Excellence, aims to honor each year, compatriots living in Mexico who have distinguished themselves in a any field having particular relation to the improvement of the image of Haiti. Because, conscious of the perception that one would have of our compatriots abroad, the Embassy wants to make every effort to make its best contribution to transform this perception thanks to the numerous efforts which you have made to enhance the image of Haiti. For that I tell you a special thank you [...]"

While in 2018 the mission had distinguished three scientists, this year 9 Haitian and Mexican artists including 3 women, have received a plaque "Honor and Merit" from the Embassy of Haiti, these are :

Étienne Sylvie Henry Germain, agronomist by profession, who chose the song to promote his country in the Aztec land. Her new album Queen Soley makes the front page of several radio and television stations in Mexico City.

Ana Maria Portillo A Mexican who has Haiti in her blood. Great promoter of painting and Haitian sculpture. Thanks to a collection of more than 250 paintings of our dear Haiti, Ana is the purveyor of works of art for all events where Haiti is present.

The engineer Magloire has worthily represented the Argentine Lidia Guerberof Hahn absent from the ceremony, become Mexican, widow of the militant Haitian Adrien Sansarick, who chose with his piano to interpret the works of Ludovic Lamothe for to popularize in Mexico the music of Haiti in all the famous halls of the Mexican capital including the auditorium of Bellas Artes.

Djuvens Colas and Olson Joseph are the worthy ambassadors of Haitian music in Mexico. They can be found at the Caribbean Culture Festival in the State of Quintana Roo, at the Tulancigo Festival (Jalapa), at the Casa del Lago, at the Friendship Festivities Festival (FICA) or at the Mexican Parliament. Olson is the star of Mexico's Zinco Jazz Club. These two artists never miss the opportunity to promote jazz vodoo, kompa etc... Olson and his group Infusion Jazz are the joy of lovers of the festival of Caribbean Culture since 2014.

Vilsaint Occean is the doyen of the community in martial arts. Arrived in Mexico in 1975, owner of one of the best schools of Karate of the Capital, Vilsaint has made a place of choice in all the championships of Mexico with the sole concern to represent his homeland Haiti.

Philippe Baptiste aka "Chocolight" is the rapper who sings in a tone of reggay, the colors and realities of the Haitian life. It is the joy of Mexican rastas who dream one day to visit our Haiti Cherie. It is found in the Historic Center of Mexico or in the "Zona Rosa" always proudly displaying the Haitian two-colored.
