Following the announcement of Senate Speaker Carl Murat Cantave of the presentation of the General Policy statement this Thursday 30 at 8 am https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27849-haiti-flash-pm-jean-michel-lapin-in-the-senate-this-thursday.html , after two failed sessions, a circular was issued by the Senate Office destined to civil servant, employees and contractors of the institution, explaining the measures taken so that the session is unfolds in calm and serenity...

The Senate ransacked :
The Senate sitting room was ransacked this morning by the four opposition senators. Senator Nenel Cassy reported on a radio of the capital that they did the work of the people by ransacking the Senate Chamber.



Circular :

"[...] The Secretary General of the Senate of the Republic, on the instruction of the President of the Office, the Honorable Carl Murat Cantave, informs the civil servant, employees and contractors of the following provisions :

1- Senate employees are exempt from attendance at their workplace on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Exception made to :

- Support staff
- Of the Sessions Service
- A small group of the protocol and communication service
- Essential staff of the Directorate of Logistics
- Management and Security Officers (DSP)

2- The Protocol Department, assisted by the Parliamentary Security Directorate, will ensure that journalists and photographers occupy the space reserved for them instead of investing in the session room.

3- Thursday, May 30, 2019 : No personal visits.

4- The Directorate of Parliamentary Security will ensure that no individual, armed or unarmed civilian, cross the parking barrier (eastern and southern), giving access to the Senate courtyard.

5- The Bureau asks the Directorate of Parliamentary Security to be very strict and vigilant in the application of these measures in order to guarantee the serenity and calmness on the yard and to ensure the safety of the honorable Senators.

N.B. The external environment will be secured by forces of the National Police called in support by the President, in accordance with Article 140 of the Rules of Procedure of the Senate [...]"
