Haiti - Education : State examinations following of preparations and schedule
One month before the start of the State exams, the officials of the Ministry of National Education, in a press conference, made an inventory on the organization process of official exams.

In his interventon Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry indicated that the cards should be available shortly for the candidates and that the technical teaching directorates are finalizing the texts of exams, which are in the rereading phase and translation into Creole for the basic level.

Recalling the stakes and the importance of these examinations, Jeune emphasized the involvement of several State institutions in the smooth running of tests such as the Ministry of Justice and the National Police of Haiti (PNH).

He also made a reminder of the dates of the examinations that will take place over 6 weeks (June 24 to August 3) and will concern 300,000 candidates (all categories) including more than 112,000 for the regular baccalaureate and 42,000 for the recaled (those that failes) session (permanent bac).

  • 9th AF examinations: 24th to 26th June 2019;
  • Examinations of the ENIs: June 24 to 28, 2019;
  • Examinations of Family Education Centers: June 24 to 28, 2019;
  • Early Examination secondary 3: June 28, 2019.
  • Exit Examinations: July 8th to 12th, 2019;
  • 2nd session of the recaled : 8 to 12 July 2019;
  • Examinations Technical and Vocational Training (FTP) July 30 to August 3, 2019;

Renan Michel, the Director of the National Office of State Examinations (BUNEXE) intervening on cases of non-validation of candidates for the final exams, is formal "those who do not meet the validation criteria will not be able to participate at the tests, they must give up now to frequent the classrooms."

To illustrate his remarks Renan Michel mentioned the case of 2,726 candidates who find themselves in philo without having passed the exams of 9th fundamental year, as well as 372 students who have two different averages with on the one hand the mention not success in a school and on the other hand success in another, emphasizing "The only possibility they have left is to return to 9th AF to complete their studies and follow the school curriculum until the end of the year" stating that 2,726 candidates are concerned by this particular case, adding that other cases are being studied for those who have failed in the second and rheto concluding "The national file of candidates for the academic year 2018-2019 whose finalization is in progress will reveal all these fraud case."

Nadine Henry, Director of fundamental Education, confirmed that everything was under control for the pedagogical aspects of the 9th AF exams and those of the Family Education Centers and indicated that candidates could choose language to pass tests in French or Creole. Moreover, she explained that according to Minister Cadet's Instructions, the candidates' texts will undergo two corrections starting this year, which will give more reliability in the results.

For Maxime Mésilas, Director of Secondary Education, the texts of the traditional high school and the renovated secondary exams are ready to ensure that the texts will be within reach of the candidates.

Finally, Etzer Vixamar, the Director of the Directorate of Training and Development (DFP), also provided details on the examinations of the Normal Schools of Teachers (ENI) with two parts : Oral and written. Recalling that the oral tests for the Department of the West, ended May 24, for other departments, the oral test will be done during the week of writing written tests, from June 24 to 28, 2019, given the number reduced number of candidates.
