Haiti - Economy : Record inflation at 17.7% 31/05/2019 08:53:42 This rise in inflation is due in particular to the behavior of functions such as: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.9% over one month and 21.5% over one year), "Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics" (+1.9 % over one month and 12.3% over one year), "Leisure" (2.4% over one month and 24.5% over one year), "Restaurants" (+ 4.3% over one month and 18.8% over one year) and "Goods and miscellaneous services "(1.6% over one month and 17.6% over one year). Products that have seen the strongest year-on-year rises : Food : Imported rice + 20.7%, ground corn +23.7%, biscuits +30.8%, meats +21.2%, cod +18.2%, eggs +27.3%, milk powder +22.0%, mango +29.6%, coconut +24.6% , cabbage +19.4%, yam +30.3% and potato +29.5%. Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics: Beer + 16.1% and other alcoholic beverages + 7.3%. Hobbies : Computer + 40.2%, TV + 27.1%) and radio + 30.8%. Restaurants: Meals taken outside + 18.8%. Other goods and services: +16.4% toothpaste, +22.2% shampoo, +21.8% toilet paper and +28.4% school bag).
