Haiti - Politic : Message of President Michel Martelly to the Haitian Nation
"Haitian people today with the final results of the CEP, it's another day which rises on the country of Haiti [...] it is a victory for us, the Haitian people, we fought for it, we suffered for it, some are have fallen for it. The outcome of the presidential election is what the people voted, but for the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, the vote of the people does not seem to have been respected [...] There are at least 17 members who were in first place and who received their "Carnet", 17 deputies who had to be elected and which have not been elected. This is not supposed to be done in a country that built its democracy. Quickly, we want an independent audit to verify that the vote of the people was respected. President Preval is solely responsible for the proper functioning of all institutions of the country and I hope that he will not publish these results without the independent verification that we ask. People, stay calm, without doing any damage, let the institutions do their work, let the independent verification to do its job. The final victory is for the people, it is necessary that the justice shed light on what happened inside the CEP to ensure that democracy continues to prevail.
The maneuvering is not part of the government Tet Kale [...] the people's voice must be respected, good results, is the first step in the decentralization. So that the "kay" is more beautiful, to make our country more just, to make our country more fraternal, that our heart is more open to our brothers and sisters, so that the rule of law to which we aspire plant its roots, without exclusions and without exclusive.
Today, me Joseph Michel Martelly, child of the country, how not to feel proud in front of the honor you made me, youth of my country, you who believe in me, Tet Kale we are the flame of change, respect.
I will not betray your confidence, Haitian of the Diaspora it's among you that I receive this honor, it can not be a coincidence. You children of Haiti who are here and there, Thank you with all my heart. The country needs us all.
All the candidates have the same dream and this dream is Haiti, political parties working together for Haiti. Today we are going to make the dream a reality.
International community, you who have accompanied the people on the road of the democracy, the Haitian people will never forget.
Haitian people, you called me and I answer, I answer present, I answer present to your orders, the order which is the key of the mandate, there is no lie in this, the order is called change, which means in a first step, the reconciliation [...] stop wasting our time in a deadlock that puts the country into more trouble. The order is called education for all, because education is the wealth of the poor, the order is called the justice, justice for all, the justice without preferential treatment because we are equal. The order is called Health and it is a priority area [...] the order is called progress because farmers can not continue to live in such misery. The order is called honesty, transparency, competence, reconstruction. Reconstruction that has a sense, because the reconstruction must not be a cake, which is shared among a small group of friends. In the reconstruction that we will do together Tet Kale, it is necessary that everyone finds its place, this is a moral responsibility that involves all the conscience, the mission has a name, all simply serve the country of Haiti.
Haitian people, Haitian people, the first servant it's me, Haiti united, Haiti first, Haiti prosperous, Haiti always. May each of you assist me in these yards of Hope "chantiers d'espoirs" and that God bless this corner of earth, our common homeland, Haiti Cheri. Thank you."
