Haiti - Politic : Strong reactions of the Senate against the plan of the radical minority opposition
In a note Carl Murat Cantave, President of the Senate expresses a "categorical disagreement with all sectors that militate in favor of the lapse of Parliament" as proposed Friday by the radical minority opposition in its "alternative" to the Government Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28047-haiti-flash-the-opposition-finally-presents-its-alternative-to-the-government-in-place.html

It reproves "with force and vehemence any idea or speech that dares to associate with such an idea, that of attacking the strongest pillar of the rule of law, of which the dissolution, the dismissal or the postponement are strictly prohibited by article 111-8 of the constitution in force."

The Senate Bureau endorses and proclaims the position of the majority of its senators who condemn any approach to the non-permanence of the Senate as long as the constitution of March 29, 1987 is still in force

Carl Murat Cantave invites each other to recoverthemselves and get rid of any inclination to undermine the foundations of republican institutions and to tarnish the image of democracy that the Haitian people already have so much trouble experimenting.

In addition, Senator Joseph Lambert condemns his colleagues "who want to annihilate the Senate because their mandate is coming to an end. Even though they keep their cockade. Unless perjured, Senators must either apologize or resign. My position is clear, the Senate will live !"

Senator Lambert on a radio of the capital has described the proposal of the radical opposition as a "planning coup". In this situation Lambert appealed to other senators and deputies "to take their responsibility. I also call on the offices of the two branches of Parliament, and in particular the Presidents of the two Chambers, to engage in international consultations with the brother parliaments so that the specter of a totalitarian drift is agitated, a kind of political aggression orchestrated by a whole group with no legitimacy."
