Despite the situation of socio-political turbulence that the country has known for more than ten days, the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) has managed to make the necessary preparations for the smooth running of these official tests.

The Minister Cadet challenges all those who intend to prevent the holding of these exams to reconsider thinking about the harm they could endure to students, parents and educational actors who have spent to carry out this difficult school year. It will be unacceptable to block their organization as long as they are of crucial importance for all the actors concerned, and globally for the Haitian school.

Cadet appeals to the citizen conscience of all the protagonists of the political crisis in the idea of facilitating to these young, girls and boys, belonging to the big Haitian family, can buckle without annoyance this stage of their school life, important step towards the gradual realization of their dream of citizens better prepared to live in the Haitian society of tomorrow.

Along the same lines, Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry is convinced that no one has any interest in these learning achievement exams being disrupted when we know that it concerns, at a level or to another, the entire Haitian population, without distinction of any kind; besides, whatever the real or fictional nature of this difference.

In his speech, Me Paul Eronce Villard, the Commissioner of the Government of Port-au-Prince warned all those who plan to disturb the passing of these official tests that the law, without appeal, will crack down on them. "Nothing will be able to justify that people, prevent these young people from composing" explaining "At least three vehicles of the public prosecutor's office will furrow, permanently, all the zones, where the tests will be held". In addition, a police back-up vehicle will also be placed at the entrance of each examination center, to ensure safety.

According to officials of the Ministry, prosecutors in other jurisdictions in the country will apply the same provisions to ensure that everything goes well during these days of exams.

In response, the radical opposition rejected the call for a truce from the Ministry during the exam period. Josué Mérilien, Coordinator of the National Union of Haitian Normans (UNOH) and member of the FOP (Progressive Opposition Force) announces 4 consecutive days of protest from Sunday 23 to Wednesday 26 June, saying that "the realization official examinations in the current context of protests is inappropriate."
