Haiti - Weather : Risk of floods and landslides 06/07/2019 08:39:44
Motorists have been trapped for hours in their cars because of the traffic jams caused by this situation. The passage of a tropical wave Saturday and Sunday in the south of Haiti should moisten the air mass and facilitate scattered thunderstorms sometimes sustained over the country during these two days. Due to the level of soil saturation and rainy activities planned for the country on Saturday and Sunday, the Meteorological Prediction Center of the Hydro Meteorological Unit, together with the Permanent Secretariat for Risk Management and the Directorate of Civil Protection asks the population in the areas at risk of floods, landslides... to remain vigilant and scrupulously apply the usual safety instructions during these showers.
