Arnel : Statement by Léon Ronsard Saint-Cyr
On Wednesday the Secretary of State for Public Security, Léon Ronsard Saint-Cyr said "[...] definitely the gang leader Arnel Joseph is under the control of the police authorities who began with his hearing [...] Important provisions have been made by law enforcement in order to neutralize all hotbeds of violence." RDDDH requests investigation into Arnel's arrest
Pierre Espérance Executive Director of the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH), welcomes the arrest of gang leader Arnel Joseph but deplores the treatment inflicted by police officers during his capture on July 22, presented entirely naked and obviously after being brutalized as shown by videos circulating on social networks. It calls on the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti to launch an investigation around this issue so that all the police officers who are involved in it are punished among others for not respecting the rights of detainees.

Arnel : A magistrate with reinforced powers
