Haiti - Politic : Resignation of the representatives of the Employers Associations of CA/OSS

In a note, all employers associations sitting on the Board of Social Security Organs (CA/OSS): the Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH ), the Franco-Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CFHCI), the Haitian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIHC) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti), "notify the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Social Affairs and Labor and the public in general of the resignation, effective immediately, of each of their representatives in this Council, and, as a result, dissociate themselves from all the acts of the member institutions" whose the Office National Old Age Insurance (ONA) and the Office of Accident Insurance for Work, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA), without the authorization of the CA/OSS.

Indeed, "the information published in the reports of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA) show an intensification of acts of abuse and corruption within these institutions in recent years, this in defiance of the authority of the Board of Directors."

However, the Employers' Associations reiterate that they remain "committed for a real and sound tripartite direction and control of the management and functioning of social security bodies with a view to optimizing and improving taxpayer coverage and services."
