Haiti - Education : Soon reconstruction of the high schools Cent Cinquantenaire and Marie Jeanne 24/08/2019 09:44:18
A delegation composed of technicians and executives from the Monetary Office of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD), representatives of the Ministry of National Education and the Department of School Engineering recently visited the High School Cent Cinquantenaire called "lycée des jeunes filles" (built under the government of Sténio Vincent) and high school Marie Jeanne heavily damaged and partially destroyed during the earthquake of January 2010. These two public school institutions will be rebuilt soon to provide a healthier learning space and a more comfortable setting for students and administrative staff. According to the technicians of the Department of School Engineering of the Ministry, Romuald Daniel and Patrick St Victor respectively Director and Deputy Director, these future establishments that operated under roofs of sheet metal, will each include three levels, including a ground floor and two floors The Lycée du Cent cinquantenaire, will include 12 classrooms, 8 laboratories and 20 health blocks, as for Lycée Marie Jeanne will include 14 classrooms and 6 laboratories. These two school infrastructures will be rebuilt in the strictest respect of the earthquake and paracyclonic standards and will be financed with 200 million gourdes, with funds from the KR (Kennedy Round) and Japanese cooperation.
