Haiti - FLASH : The Head of State replaces the DG of the PNH 27/08/2019 12:11:29
President Jovenel Moïse decided not to renew the mandate of Gédéon and among two contenders for the succession: Charles Nazaire Noël, current Director General of the National Penitentiary Administration or the former Director of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) Normil Rameau, the Head of State chose Normil Rameau as confirmed by the presidential decree dated August 26, 2019, signed by President Moïse, the resigning Prime Minister Jean Michel Lapin and Minister of Justice Jean Roudy Aly Extract of the Order : "[...] Article 1 - Citizen Rameau NORMIL is appointed Acting General Director of the National Police of Haiti (HPN) Article 2 - An extension of this Order will be given to the person concerned. Article 3 - The present Order will be printed, published and executed for legal purposes. {...]" Note that Normil Rameau worked as Minister Counselor for Military Affairs at the Embassy of Haiti in Washington since leaving the DCPJ.
