Haiti - Culture : 4th Edition of the «Festi Graffiti»

From 10 to 20 September 2019 will take place in the metropolitan area and Petit-Goâve, the 4th Edition of "Festi Graffiti Haiti" organized by the Collective for the Promotion of Urban Arts and Contemporary Art (CAPAUAC) around the theme "Contemporary mobility : deterritorializing the imaginary". Note that this Festival of Urban Art is supported in particular by the Ministry of Tourism, the French Institute in Haiti, the Embassy of Switzerland, the Embassy of France in Romania, the International Organization for Migration Wallonia Brussels and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Since its creation in 2015, "Festi Graffiti" knows a growing success. Unique festival on urban art in Haiti. More than 2,000 people took part in workshops, skateboarding, slam and hip-hop performances at Place Jérémie and Rue Rigaud in Pétion-Ville.

In 2017, for the 2nd edition, artists from Martinique and the United States, along with Haitian artists, presented their works during two days reserved for live performances. Urban dance workshops also delighted over 4,000 visitors.

In 2018, at the 3rd edition, in 2018, the artists came from all over the world including Germany, Guadeloupe, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Chile and Australia. visitors came to witness their performances alongside our Haitian graffiti artists at Roy Street in Port-au-Prince.

This year, several arteries of the metropolitan area of ​​Port-au-Prince and Petit-Goâve will welcome thousands of festival-goers (local, diaspora and international) and graffiti artists from Haiti and abroad including: Simo Croc (Morocco), Tomer Linace (Mexico) ), Lidia (Brazil), Zabou (France), Yellow (Blegique), and Cosby Hayes, Nate Dee, Sarah Painter, Vise, Julzroth from the United States will be there this year. They will animate graffiti workshops, present their works and take advantage of their visit to visit the country.

For its 4th edition, "Festi Graffiti" wants to offer a greater attraction to the city of Port-au-Prince through urban frescoes, graffiti workshops, musical performances and dance performances, advocating social inclusion, gender equity and the promotion of urban arts and crafts as a tool for community development, with a special focus on the history of Haiti.
