Haiti - Taiwan : Donation of 17 pumping systems powered by solar energy

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony on September 5th of a contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a donation of 17 solar powered water pumping systems https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28677-haiti-news-zapping.html between the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and the "Speedtech Energy Co.LTD" of Taiwan (Republic of China) the Minister Joseph Jouthe said, "These pumps will contribute to the protection of the environment, they will also help to boost agriculture by ensuring the survival of present and future generations [...] thanks to this equipment, the fertility of the land. and plant production in these areas will also be strengthened. This will undoubtedly help to reduce the drought and hunger that continue to threaten our country."

In addition to Minister Jouthe, the ceremony was attended by senior Ministry officials, representatives of SpeedTech Energy Co.LTD, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Haiti, Bang-Zuh Liu, Minister of Agriculture Joubert C. Angrand and representatives of the Presidency.

Jouthe explained that these pumps that will be installed in the departments of Artibonite, West, North, North-East and South of the country will promote announcing that the government expected to install 300 in all, of the same type throughout the national territory.

In his speech, Ambassador Bang-Zuh Liu said he was "honored" by the signing of this "hopeful for national production" contract, underlining "This achievement is the result of a long team effort between the two governments and is an example of the fruitful cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan [...]"

Pending the positive results of the installation of these 17 solar pumps Minister Jouthe and Ambassador Liu wish the involvement of local and international actors to fly to the rescue of national production, in decline for several years...
