Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Distribution of fuels under control, municipal, judicial and of the police
On Monday, at the initiative of the Mayor of Petit-Goâve, Délor Desgranges, an emergency meeting was held at the Hôtel Empress of Petit-Goâve, in the presence of the Government Commissioner, Me Fourjy Pierre, the Judge of Peace, Me Valembrun, two agents of the PNH and officials of the two main service stations to find a solution to the fuel crisis and fight against the black market https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28697-haiti-social-speculation-on-fuels-continues-in-petit-goave.html

In accordance with the spirit of the law of 20 December 1946, the local authorities adopted the following provisions :

"1) It is strictly forbidden for the Pompists to sell petroleum products in cans. Cans are the main cause of the black market;

2) The fuel must be sold to motorcycle and automobile drivers... Vehicle drivers and generator owners must be privileged;

3) Distribution must be on time;

4) The police will be present in the pumps to ensure compliance with decisions and ensure discipline."

At the end of the meeting, the Mayor, the Government Commissioner, the Justice of the Peace and the police officers, who were supported by several hundred taxi-motorbikes, went to the service stations to check the quantity of fuel available which proved to be sold out.

A third service station belonging to Ricardo nicknamed "Ti Léogâne" had fuel reserves. The Mayor asked this owner to order the resumption of the sale. This has been done to allow motorcycle taxi drivers, motorists and other consumers to obtain fuel under police surveillance.
