Haiti - Politic : Senator Sorel Yacinthe accuses his colleagues of corrupt, senators deny 13/09/2019 13:38:17 Sorel Yacinthe claims that the Senate Speaker offered him $100,000 to vote in favor of the Prime Minister saying "[...] Carl Murat Cantave, came 3 times to my house trying to corrupt me by offering me money to vote for Prime Minister Fritz William Michel". He also referred to a meeting at Sen. Wilfrid Gélin during which the Senators. Kédlaire Augustin, Dieudonne Luma Étienne, Wilfrid Gélin, Jacques Sauveur Jean and Willot Joseph would have received from Prime Minister Michel each 100,000 US dollars. All the Senators quoted by Sorel Yacinthe in this supposed case of corruption of vote, rejected categorically these accusations. Reacting to these allegations Jacques Sauveur Jean declared "Sorel's statement, made pity" calling him "sub-men who can lie at any time" While stating that he was not present at this meeting, he confirms that he had indeed planned a meeting between Prime Minister Fritz William Michel and his colleagues from the bloc he is leading saying "To my knowledge, there was no distribution of money." Senator Carl Murat Cantave, Senate Speaker, denied the accusations, challenging Senator Sorel Jacinthe to provide any evidence "For history and truth, at no time did I offer money to the Senator. Sorel Jacinthe who is wandering [...] If the Senator has a proof (images and sounds) that he shows it. The Nation can no longer live from these shows." Following her thundering claims, Sorel Jacinthe only added "Tou manti pa fon. The people are listening. Who knows little is enough..." SL/ HaitiLibre
