Haiti - Politic : PHTK provides an update 20/09/2019 09:53:35 The PHTK recalls that at the end of the last legislative elections of 2015, 2016 and 2017, no political party has an absolute majority in the Parliament, stressing that as a result "it is up to the Executive to release a political majority [coalition] in the two Houses to support the action of the Government [...]" It resulted that the parties most represented in Parliament including the PHTK, have never been able to exercise political control over the Houses and incidentally on their parliamentarians "drowne" in circumstantial parliamentary blocs". In addition, the Party says it is "challenged by the finding of a double incapacity": "The inability to put in place, after nearly 6 months, a legitimate Government, able to respect our international commitments and to meet the expectations of the population on the political, economic and social levels; The inability to respect the constitutional deadlines linked to the start of the procedure for the revision of the Fundamental Charter, the timely renewal of political staff through credible elections and the inauguration of the 51st legislature on the 2nd of January of January 2020 " With this in mind, the PHTK "urges all political actors to create the conditions, so that through dialogue, consensus and consultation, the daugthers and sons of Haiti agree to stave off lasting endemic diseases and chronicles that eat away our society.
