More than 9,500 soldiers guard the Dominican border
The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Rubén Darío Paulio Sem, said "The border is doing well, we have increased the number of posts at the border, even though we learned that a cargo of fuel had arrived in Haiti," recalling "About two years ago, we reinforced security at the border with 8,500 soldiers. With the fuel crisis in Haiti, we have strengthened the border area with more than a thousand soldiers" Note that the Dominican army includes a workforce of nearly 65,000 men (Source 2015, International Institute Strategic Studies London) of which almost 15% are mobilized today for the surveillance of the border.

Jovenel Moïse at the UN

$17.7M from OAS to fight corruption
Chancellor Bocchit Edmond announced that the Organization of American States (OAS) will support a program to fight corruption in Haiti.
