High tension day in Pétion-ville after the failure of the ratification session, while many protesters claiming to be of the opposition, launching slogans hostile to the Government, blocked in the Karibe Convention Center, members of the Government and ministers from the new cabinet Michel who were in a meeting. Protesters fearing the holding of a secret meeting of ratification as suggesting false information...

Unable to enter the hotel, very aggressive "protesters" ransacked several companies, broke windshields, set two vehicles on fire, erected barricades of burning tires and paralyzed traffic, repeatedly confronting agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) who responded to throwing stones with tear gas grenades to restore order.

On Monday around 4:00 pm, individuals attacked the branch of the Haitian Union Bank located on the ground floor of Complex 18 (Canapé-Vert Road), looting and ransacking all that was in the bank before set on fire. The Propharma Pharmaceutical Agency, located on the upper floors was also vandalized, looted and burned.

The PNH arrested several protesters while firefighters struggled to contain and extinguish the building's fire.

It is too early to know the extent of looting and damage caused by the partial fire of Complex 18.
