Haiti - Demonstrations : The Government announces a major cleaning to facilitate the resumption of activities

While the streets are congested with rocks, tree trunks, car carcass, tires still smoking and many debris of all kinds, vestiges of the violent demonstrations of the last days https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28863-haiti-flash-insurrectional-situation-in-haiti-metropolitan-area.html ; the Government announced Saturday the establishment of a multi-party institutional unit.

The mission of this unit will be to coordinate the clearing of public roads of barricades and other dangerous debris or blocking the circulation and sanitize the metropolitan area and provincial cities, starting Saturday, September 28 to facilitate the resumption of activities.

member institutions of the Coordination Cell :

- Public Works, Transport and Communications (TPTC);

- Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT);

- Ministry of Justice and Public Security;

- National Equipment Center (CNE);

- National Solid Waste Management Service (SNGRS);

- National Police of Haiti (PNH);

At the same time Schiler Louidor (Famni Lavalas), one of the spokesmen for the radical opposition of the so-called "Democratic and Popular Sector", called on protesters to remain mobilized and defend their barricades.
