Haiti - FLASH : Jamaican criminals in Haiti

Jamaican criminals and traffickers of all stripes reportedly fled Jamaica to other states in the Caribbean and Latin America to escape the police crackdown in Jamaica in the parishes of St James, Hanover and Westmoreland since April 30, following an explosion of murders and other violent crimes. "A number of the men who have fled our jurisdiction have been killed overseas and their bodies returned to Jamaica for burial. Because of the sustained pressure that we are putting on them through the SOE, many are fleeing the island by boat because they dread being caught and locked up."

Meanwhile, Commissioner Ellis reports that the dangerous convicted fugitive St James Shaniel Luton, sentenced to life in prison in 2015, was reportedly killed in a gang clash in Haiti two weeks ago stating "Based on the information that has come to us, we believe with a high degree of certainty that it is him [...] We are working closely with our Haitian counterparts on this one. We have seen pictures, but we are awaiting confirmation by DNA" recalling that Luton was suspected of to be one of the main actors in the illegal arms-to-drug trade between Jamaica and Haiti.

Elis also informed that Delano Wilmot aka "Prekeh", who is on the list of the most wanted by the police of Saint James, accused of murders and shots on a patrol of the Jamaican Defense Forces and on 3 soldiers, would be also in Haiti.
