Haiti - Crisis : 8th week of anti-government demonstrations
Monday, 8th week of mobilizations to demand the resignation of Jovenel Moïse, barricades were noticed among others at Carrefour, the road of the international airport, Delmas, as well as on the RN #1 from and towards North and RN #2 from and to the South...

Since Sunday in several metropolitan areas but also in several cities in the province automatic firearms have been reported.

Several units of the Police have supported teams of the Ministry of Public Works to release with heavy equipment road lanes blocked by reinforced barricades...

Exchanges of fire, stones and tear gas grenades took place between police officers and protesters in some neighborhoods.

Used oil was dumped on the Delmas 48...

In the metropolitan area, some businesses have timidly opened their doors, ready to close them if the situation worsens... A few public transit vehicles were seen in some places. Schools have remained closed for millions of students...

Faced with the passivity of the authorities, the non-demonstrating population, taken under hostage, wondered how far the authorities concerned intend to let the situation deteriorate before taking serious measures that are necessary to restore order and peace in the country...

Strong tensions have been reported in several provincial cities, including Jeremie (Grand Anse dept), St-Marc (Dept. Artibonite) where barricades of burning tires have been erected in several streets. Violent clashes and acts of vandalism have been reported.
