Sunday afternoon following the death of a French couple shot dead in Delmas, while he had just arrived in Haiti as part of an adoption procedure https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29359-haiti-flash-a-french-couple-killed-by-bullets-in-front-of-their-hotel.html the Parquet of Paris announced Tuesday the opening of an investigation for "intentional homicide".

The Public Prosecutor's Office has entrusted the preliminary investigation to the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons (OCRVP), which is competent as soon as a French person is the victim of a criminal act abroad.

According to preliminary information from the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the couple were killed when they arrived at their hotel, by unidentified individuals circulating on a motorcycle, during a robbery that turned badly....

Bocchit Edmond, the Minister of Foreign Affairs wrote on his Twitter account "My deepest condolences to the relatives of the French couple tragically killed in Delmas. The Haitian Government will make every effort to shed light on this crime. Haiti must be secure land not only for its sons and daughters but also for foreigners."

Me Jacques Lafontant, acting Commisssaire of the Government informed that an investigation had been opened by the Central Directorate of the Judiciary Police (DCPJ).

Moreover, the relatives of dead victims in Haiti want to repatriate bodies in France without autopsy in Haiti a request to which Jacques Lafontant said he was in favor.
