Haiti - FLASH : Elected in Europe during the holiday season at the expense of the State! 13/12/2019 08:48:38
Missions strongly criticized by the population in this period of crisis, where the state coffers are supposedly empty and or millions of Gourdes will be spent in a festive period abroad whose "coincidence" adds a doubt to these missions and their utilities... Senate Senator Cantave will travel to London accompanied by his political adviser Chatelier Roody to assess the number and functions of the staff employed by the Embassy, and to ensure that the Haitian State does not do not pay people who have nothing to do at the Embassy. Thursday Cantave confirmed on the airwaves of a radio of the capital aboiut this trip that he does not go "in ballad" in London at the expense of the State explaining "when it is a personal trip, I make disbursements; but in the case of a mission where I make an official trip as President of the Senate, the State must take charge of me." According to the information circulated, the travel expenses for Cantave and his Councilor (Port-au-Prince / Miami / London / New York / Port-au-Prince) amount to 1,636,540.00 Gourds to which is most likely added a per diem... On the other hand, in a note, the Chancellery informs "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Embassy of Haiti in France of the stay of member of the parliamentary delegation hereafter in Paris (France) from 18 to 26 December 2019, the framework of a supervision on the functioning of the Embassy of Haiti in Paris and on the situation of Haitian immigrants in France." Note that if the Mission in London is only for 2 people, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies who will go to Paris, city light during the holiday season... includes no less than 10 people ! We do not know the cost of such an 8-day mission, but we can reasonably estimate that it will cost the Haitian State several million gourdes, including travel and stays... Mission in France : Deputy Alfredo Junior Antoine, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee; MP Joseph Benoît Laguerre, Vice-President; Member of Parliament Pierre Jude Destiné, Member; MP Jean Willer Jean, Member; Deputy Francisque Delacruz, Member; MP Anouce Bernard, Member; MP Jean Wilson Hyppolite, Member; Mrs Christelle L'Herisson, Consultant of the said commission; Lucienne Destravil, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies. Deputy Joseph Benoît Laguerre, considers that this mission falls within the scope of the Commission which is to investigate and control what is being done and that it "is not a cruise trip", preventing to evoke this period of the holidays where the price of travel and hotels in Paris are at the highest. On the social networks, Internet users are unleashed before what they consider to be a waste of the meager funds of the State, finding unacceptable and unfounded the trips of these elected officials who think only to "satisfy their personal interests, to the detriments interests of the Nation."
