Haiti - USA : Revocation of visas of officials suspected of electoral fraud

Following the intervention of U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, who heads the Committee on Justice and the Subcommittee on Foreign Operations, which had asked to the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to cancel the visas of Haitian officials suspected of electoral fraud, the United States have revoked Tuesday, the visas of several electoral advisers including the President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), Gaillot Dorsinvil as well as those of Léonel Raphaël, Anténor Guerrier and Ribel Pierre.
Relatives of those advisers and 3 candidates elected in the legislative election which is still contested, after the revaluation of the Special National Complaints and Challenges Bureau (BCEN), which maintain their victory namely: Patrick Domond (Jacmel), Lutherking Emmanuel Marcadieu (Belladères) et Phanèse J. R. Laguerre (Carice/ Vallières /Mombin Crochu), are also affected by the revocation. The United States continued to express reservations about these results, following the verifications of the BCEN Special.
