Haiti - FLASH : Haiti 12th most corrupt country out of 180
In the latest Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index 2019 report, Haiti ranks at the bottom of the 12 most corrupt countries in the world in 168th place out of 180 countries (ex tied with Libya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Guinea Bissau). With a score of 18 out of 100. Haiti ranks 1st among the most corrupt countries in the Caribbean and 2nd on the podium in Latin America between Nicaragua 161st and Venezuela 173rd.

The index ranks 180 countries on a scale of 0 to 100, depending on the level of perceived corruption in the public sector. More than two thirds of the countries studied obtain a score below 50, which means that they operate in a corrupt environment.

For Haiti it is a decrease of 7 places compared to 2018

1 - Denmark (score 87/100)
2 - New Zealand (score 87/100)
3 - Finland (score 86/100)

Note that the United States is 23rd (score 56/100) and the Dominican Republic 137th out of 180 countries with a score of 28/100, a decrease of 8 places compared to 2018 (129th).

TOP 3 of the most corrupt countries in the world :
1 - Somalia (score 9/100)
2 - South Soudan (score 12/100)
3 - Syria (score 13/100)

Transparency International, deplores that for the year 2019 the nearly 70% of the countries stagnate or retreat, that progress against corruption is almost zero in the world because the majority of the countries do not make any effort to really tackle this plague.
