Haiti - Sports : Minister Charles on tour in the Great South
As part of the development of local fields as well as the management and rational use of the country's sports infrastructure, Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth and Sports carried out a tour of sports infrastructure in the department of Nippes. After meeting with local authorities and notables of the department, Charles promised to do everything in his power to promote the practice of sport throughout the national territory.

In Arnaud and Anse-à-Veau, technicians from the Ministry's Infrastructure and Installation Unit evaluated the interventions required to standardize two sites. Minister Charles believes that young people need Sports infrastructure "With the assistance of the Ministries of Defense and Public Works, which have human and material resources, we will work to offer play opportunities to our young people in order to encourage the practice of sport and reduce juvenile delinquency."

After the department of West and Nippes, Minister Charles went to the department of Grand’Anse. He went to Aquin to assess the progress of work on a nearby site. He said he was "very satisfied" and promised to take the measures to complete this multisport ground which will also serve as a leisure area. He also visited the Serge Bernadel Sports Center in Miragoâne where he called for better harmonization of sports organizations and regulatory bodies.

In addition, Charles accompanied by executives and technicians of the ministry, noted irregularities in the work carried out in the St Louis Park of Jérémie and deplored that the interventions did not respect the technical and administrative standards. However, it intends to work with the firms concerned in order to make the necessary corrections while inviting them to discuss with the stakeholders before any intervention on a public good.

Charles also visited Park Ste Thérèse of Mafranc where the population welcomed him with great warmth explaining to the Minister that he is only asking for the leveling of their land and a drainage system. The Minister Charles has promised to work on this file with the entities which accompany him in the project of development of the grounds of proximity stressing "if it is important to accompany the Federations and Sports associations which work with the development of the national sport, it is also a duty of the Ministry to facilitate mass sport for the benefit of the population in general and of athletes in particular."
