Haiti - Cap-Haitian : The Carnival resumed in violence, several victims 26/02/2020 08:26:12 Michel Martelly and his Sweet Micky Group and 6 other musical floats : Tropicana and Septentrional, Anbyans, Bèl Look, Gamax and Kanpèch were to parade for this second fat day, but due to the shots heard and the tensions, only that of Martelly maintained his decision to parade under a large police escort. While Sweet Micky's Char along the Boulevard du Cap-Haïtien shots were reported, which did not prevent Michel Martelly from continuing his performance accompanied by a few hundred festival goers fans of Sweet Micky. At street 24, bursts of automatic weapons and shots near the truck of Martelly by unidentified individuals, interrupted the parade and caused panic among festival-goers and dancers who fled. Assessment of this attack, at least 6 people injured by gunshot including 2 police officers and 4 festival-goers and a participant on the Char of Martelly. Several other people sustained minor injuries during the panic movement. After "order was restored," Martelly and his group continued to parade and play for the pleasure of their fans. Several bullet holes were visible on the Martelly tank. Tuesday, 3rd and last fat day, and despite the violent incidents of the previous day, the Organizing Committee kept the carnival festivities under high police protection. The disguised bands paraded without incident, as did the musical floats including Tropicana d'Haiti, Septentrional, Bèl Look, Frèfrè Band and Anbyans but without the participation of Sweet Micky throughout the initial route (rue 18, Rond-Point Samarie, rue 24, before ending on Boulevard du Cap), livening up the evening with fervor for the happiness of thousands of fanatic and unconditional Carnival festival-goers.
