The opposition distributes masks

Friday, May 1, 2020, the local branch of the radical opposition of the so-called "democratic and popular" sector in Petit Goave, proceeded to the distribution of hygiene kits and nose pads. Several Goâvians and opposition activists and sympathizers took to the streets to urge the population to follow the instructions aimed at combating the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. 10 years later, water is flowing in the Latandrie canal

On Friday May 1st, water started to flow again in the Latandrie Canal in the North, which had been without water for more than 10 years. Farmers in the region are asking Patrix Sévère, the Minister of Agriculture, to work so that all high channels and all extensions can bring water to all farmers.

Cap-Haïtien : A historic process

Friday at the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien, the municipal authorities met the Committee of the Merchants of the place rue 3. The two parties agreed on the need to remake the image of the Christophienne City, to arrange a large space which must accommodate mercants within 5 weeks and rebuild the Square Toussaint Louverture. Pending the completion of the development of the new space, the merchants asked the Mayor for permission to display their goods during the days of operation of the public markets in Cap-Haitien. This authorization has been granted, but a meeting will be held shortly to establish a temporary location. The Municipal Authorities thank the Capois and invite them to support this historic process.

2 new Dominican consuls in Haiti

Friday By decree 155-20, President Danilo Medina appointed two new consuls general Gustavo Lembert Canó in Port-au-Prince and Edixon Mateo Quezada in Cap-Haitien. In addition to its embassy in Port-au-Prince, the Dominican Republic has 4 consultats in Haiti: Anse-à-Pitres, Belladère, Cap-Haïtien and Ouanaminthe.

Mask mandatory...

"From Monday, May 11, 2020, wearing a mask will be mandatory in all public places. My Government will intensify distributions during this week, particularly in the markets.
