As our country was founded on the rule of law, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced a full criminal investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Floyd’s death. As Secretary Pompeo said of George Floyd’s death: “It’s a tragedy. The police officers’ actions there were abhorrent.” We join the calls around the world to condemn this act.

The U.S. Embassy in Haiti is acutely aware of the grief and trauma weighing heavily on our U.S. Mission, our nation, and our Haitian friends and partners.
