Haiti - Environment : Expo-cactus at Quisqueya Park

As part of the celebration of World Environment Day, the Foundation for Development of Alternative Tourism in Haiti (FONDTAH) organizes this Sunday, June 5, 2011, from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m., the first Expo Cactus ato the Botanical Garden of Natural Park of Quisqueya of Fonds Parisien.

This day will be the occasion for the authors of the approach : Bernard Ethéart and Jean Robert Jean Noel to present the guidance document for the refoundation of the State of Haiti with a Haitian vision and to celebrate the World Environment Day whose the theme is: "Together we will preserve more our cactus, we will protect better our natural resources."

The organization of this event will allow firstly, to the FONDTAH and to the Haitian Foundation for the Integral Development, Latino American and Caribbean (FONHDILAC) to develop the botanical garden of the Natural Park of Quisqueya of Fonds Parisien to house a permanent exhibition of cactus that will be a real attraction.

Secondly, this park will enable research groups to explore the opportunities to increase the added value of cactus plants to create jobs to the benefit of the Community. The cactus, medicinal plant, ornamental and comestible, can be a source of income for the resources users of Natural Park of Quisqueya of Fonds Parisien. To do a library and a museum of Cacti will be constructed on site.
