Haiti - Social : «The Dominican Republic is not a racist country» dixit Sarodj Bertin

Lawyer in international business law, singer, actress, Miss Haiti 2010 and child rights activist, Sarodj Bertin, Haitian-Dominican who lives since the age of 4 in the neighboring Republic declared that "the Dominican Republic was not a racist country."

"We cannot cover the sun with a finger, I know and I love both cultures. The Dominican Republic is not a racist country. I say it and I stand by it. Now, there are racist people in the Dominican Republic, as there are racist people in Haiti, the United States, Mexico, Chile, all over the world."

Sarodj said she is aware that illegal Haitians in the Dominican Republic receive lower wages in construction, or are not paid for their work, that there have been abuses "[...] all these stories are real but this does not happen to all Haitians who come, we cannot generalize and say that all Dominicans are abusers," adding "it is all a matter of humanity, there are good Dominicans, there are bad [...]"

Sarodj is currently promoting her latest song called "Mi Guerrera" which she composed in honor of her mother.
