The Cayemite Islands elevated to the rank of commune
In the special issue of the official journal Le Moniteur #14 dated Tuesday, July 7, the head of State elevated the Cayemite Islands to the rank of commune. Previously attached to the commune of Pestel, 6th municipal section, department of Grand'Anse, the Cayemites are located in the south of the Gulf of Gonâve, about 35 km east of Jérémie, in the department of Grand'Anse. They are now in the Corail borough.
