Haiti - Justice : Update on the investigation «Guiteau Toussaint» 15/06/2011 10:24:43
"In this case, we have already arrested two individuals which were arrested in the vicinity [of the residence of the banker] and could not justify their presence in the area. One of them is a deportee [U.S.]. So far, we question them. I must also specify that the scientific police was also present at the scene, we managed to collecting fingerprints, nd we'll compare these fingerprints with those of the two individuals we have arrested. Within this record, there are more than a dozen of arrest warrants that have been issued. Sometimes an investigation can go fast, sometimes it can be slow... [...] here are several tracks that we need to explore, a work that we must do as a judicial authority and of the police . We are aware of the statement from the presidency [...] so that the investigation advance as quickly as possible, so it is in this phase we are. There are people which are arrested, there are people which are already apprehended, they will be subjected to questions, there are samples of fingerprints that we'll compare and then we will explore other tracks..." A police source of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) reported that the arrests of Lavalas militant Yvon Antoine aka Yvon Zapzap is unrelated to the murder of Guiteau Toussaint, putting end to the rumors circulating in some local media and internet.
