1.3 Haitians shot dead every day

Thursday the National Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace (CE-JILAP) published its 75th observation report on the situation of violence and crime in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince for the period from April to June (90 days). The report reveals, among other things, that 114 people were shot dead during this period, or 1.3 people every day on average.

A young man killed for stealing his motorcycle

On Thursday, a man who had just bought a new motorcycle, according to witnesses, was shot dead in the head in rue Lamarre (Port-au-Prince) by unidentified armed individuals who were traveling aboard a motorcycle which escaped with the victim's motorcycle.

The Ambassador of Haiti invited to the Congress

For the month of August 2020, the National Ambulance Center - CAN intervened in 8 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 35 suspected cases, 27 respiratory distress, 125 chronic diseases, 253 obstetric emergencies, 122 road accidents, 64 transfers, 96 various ailments, 25 gunshot wounds, 18 stab wounds, 15 traumas and 10 burns.
